Located in west Houston, Arthur Storey Park spans 175 acres of green space built around a large man-made pond. It's a thoughtful design that functions as both a recreational space and a flood control reservoir in Houston's rain-prone landscape.

The park's 3.31-mile paved loop winds its way around the water, excellent for your morning jog, afternoon walk, or weekend bike ride. Yes, one side borders Beltway 8 with its inevitable traffic sounds, but cross to the other side and you'll discover yourself alongside the more peaceful Brays Bayou section. The well-maintained path is popular with locals for daily exercise.

Places to Play

You can find plenty of open space to throw a frisbee or kick a ball, plus picnic areas complete with barbecue grills when you're ready to refuel. Kids have multiple playgrounds to explore, and the gazebos and pavilions scattered throughout make great gathering spots - some even have working outlets if you need to charge up while hanging out.
