About the Location

Features and Amenities

Situated in McKinney, Texas, A. Hardy Eubanks Jr. Park spans a cozy 10.44 acres of neighborhood green space. Sitting right next to Bennett Elementary School, this park has become a cherished spot for locals looking to enjoy some fresh air without venturing too far from home.

Wrapping around the park's edges is a lighted hike and bike trail stretching about 0.4 miles. It's nothing massive, but good for a quick morning jog or an evening stroll when you need to clear your head or burn off some energy.

Playground and Recreation

The heart of the park has to be its barrier-free, shaded play structure. What's really thoughtful about this playground is how it welcomes kids of all abilities - no child gets left out of the fun here. With its vibrant colors and engaging climbing features, it's designed to help little ones build confidence while they play.

You'll also find swings nearby, however keep in mind they're set pretty high. If you're bringing smaller children, you might need to give them a hand getting situated.

Sports Facilities

There's a full-court basketball court for basketball enthusiasts. There's also an open greenspace area suitable for tossing a football around or spreading out a blanket to relax.

Baseball and softball enthusiasts haven't been forgotten either - there's a dedicated backstop available for casual practice or impromptu games.

Picnic and Gathering Areas

When hunger strikes, head over to the picnic shelter that operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Need more space? The gazebo patio area houses four large tables, making it a natural gathering spot for birthday parties or family reunions.

Fancy some grilled treats? The charcoal grill stands ready for your cookout ambitions - just remember to bring your own charcoal and grilling tools.

Visitor Information

The park welcomes visitors from 5:30 AM to 11:00 PM daily. Parking is available at Bennett Elementary School, with additional street parking nearby, but you might need to walk a bit to reach the playground.

One thing to note: there aren't any public restrooms or drinking fountains here, so plan accordingly. Trash cans are scattered throughout the grounds - please use them to help keep the park looking its best.

Just a heads up - after heavy rain, some areas might get a bit soggy due to drainage issues. On those days, you might want to wear appropriate footwear or check out another park until things dry up.
