Park Overview

Sprawling across nearly 29 acres of McKinney greenspace at 301 West Standifer Street, Finch Park is a recently refreshed spot that's popular with locals. A canopy of mature trees creates nice pockets of shade throughout the grounds, making it comfortable for a quick afternoon outing or a full day of outdoor fun.

Playgrounds and Water Features

Kids of all ages have their own space to explore here. Little ones can toddle around in their dedicated playground area, complete with small awnings to keep the Texas sun at bay, while older children can challenge themselves on more advanced play structures nearby. Both areas are designed with safety in mind while still offering plenty of opportunity for adventure.

When summer temperatures start climbing, the park's splash pad becomes the place to be. The signature bucket that gradually fills before cascading water down a spout is particularly popular with kids - you'll often hear squeals of delight as they play. The non-slip surface means parents can relax a bit while their children cool off and make splash pad memories.

Sports Facilities

Athletes and casual players can enjoy several sports facilities at Finch Park. The basketball courts come with lighting for those evening games, while dedicated tennis courts await racquet enthusiasts.

The real community hotspot might be the pickleball courts, though. With 12 courts total (8 dedicated and 4 converted from tennis courts), the pickleball area has developed its own mini-culture. Players use a paddle stacking system that helps everyone get fair playing time regardless of skill level. Don't worry if you're new to the game - regulars are known for welcoming beginners and offering impromptu lessons.

For something a bit different, the sand volleyball court offers a beach-like experience right in the heart of McKinney.

All year long, Finch Park transforms into a community hub hosting various events, including Juneteenth celebrations, strengthening neighborhood bonds in the process.
