Memorial Park is a 14.11-acre community park located along Brushy Creek. The park provides a cool and shaded atmosphere due to its abundance of trees, offering visitors a respite from the Texas heat.
A 0.60-mile trail runs alongside Brushy Creek, providing a scenic route for runners, walkers, and cyclists. The trail leads to the legendary Round Rock, a large limestone rock formation in Brushy Creek that gave the city its name.
Historical Significance
The Round Rock landmark once marked a low-water crossing for wagons, horses, and cattle during the 19th century. The park features several historical elements, including informative plaques and a commemorative World War II torpedo.
These additions help preserve and share the area's rich history with visitors.
Recreation Options
For sports enthusiasts, Memorial Park offers a softball field complete with a full concession stand. Families with children can enjoy the playground area, which is conveniently located near the parking facilities.
