When summer temperatures soar, the swimming pool complex is particularly popular. It features three distinct sections to suit swimmers of all ages and abilities: a main pool with depths ranging from 3 to 5 feet, an impressive 13-foot diving pool for the more adventurous, and a gentle wading pool (just 1 to 2 feet deep) where little ones can splash safely. The water quality is regularly tested, and attentive lifeguards help ensure everyone's safety.

Kids will gravitate toward the covered playground, however some parts could use a bit more shade on particularly sunny days.

Cassiano Park serves well as a gathering spot with its large pavilion that's suitable for hosting everything from birthday bashes to family reunions. Within the park, you'll discover picnic areas and grilling stations that make outdoor meals a breeze - just bring your cooler and charcoal.

A Fresh Chapter Begins

Exciting changes are coming to this neighborhood favorite. In January 2024, the park received a significant boost when San Antonio's Parks and Recreation Department secured a $1.5 million grant from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission for the Cassiano Park Revitalization Project, aimed at enhancing outdoor recreational opportunities.

Looking Ahead

As part of the 2022-2027 Bond Project, Cassiano Park is slated for several meaningful upgrades within the available funding. Plans include pool house renovations, a new aquatic amenity, and playground enhancements that will breathe fresh life into these well-loved spaces.

These improvements are expected to take shape between Summer 2025 and Fall 2026.

Good to Know

The park welcomes visitors daily from 5AM to 11PM. Restroom facilities are available, but their condition can be hit or miss depending on recent maintenance. Overall, the park is well-kept, with Park Police and trail stewards making regular rounds to ensure everyone feels safe and comfortable during their visit.
