Lady Bird Johnson Park is a 330-acre recreational area located in San Antonio, Texas. The park offers a variety of outdoor activities and facilities for visitors to enjoy.

Trails and Greenway

The park features a 0.6-mile paved walking trail along Salado Creek, providing opportunities for exercise and nature appreciation. The Salado Creek Greenway runs through the park, connecting it to other parts of San Antonio's trail system.

This allows visitors to extend their walks or bike rides beyond the park's boundaries.

Sports Facilities

Lady Bird Johnson Park is home to the popular Alva Jo Fischer softball complex, which consists of multiple softball fields used for local leagues and tournaments. The park also includes several other recreational facilities, such as basketball courts, tennis courts, and a baseball field.

During the summer months, visitors can enjoy the Olympic-sized swimming pool, which is typically open for public use.

Skate Park

One of the park's unique features is San Antonio's first public skate park. This 7,000-square-foot skate bowl ranges from five to nine feet deep, providing skateboarders with a challenging and enjoyable experience.

Adjacent to the skate bowl is an 1,800-square-foot deck with a five-foot quarter ramp, offering additional skating options.

Community Amenities

The park houses the Lou Hamilton Community Center, which offers various programs and activities for residents. For families with children, there are playgrounds available.

Lady Bird Johnson Park also offers areas for picnicking, with tables and pavilions available for use. Some of these pavilions can be reserved for events or gatherings.
