About the Location
Historical Significance
Nunn's Park is named after L.L. Nunn, a pioneer in hydroelectric power who operated the first 44,000-volt hydropower plant in America by harnessing the flows of the Provo River.
The park grounds were originally the site of a hydroelectric plant built in 1897, which provided electricity for mining operations near Mercur, Utah. Today, the area has been repurposed as a public park managed by Utah County Parks.
