About the Location
A Neighborhood Green with a View
Positioned in Salt Lake City's historic Avenues neighborhood, this pleasant 3.5-acre urban green space sits amid character-filled historic homes and leafy streets.
Perched on elevated ground amid character-filled historic homes and leafy streets, 11th Avenue Park rewards you with breathtaking panoramic views of the Salt Lake Valley that honestly make even a quick visit worthwhile.
Sunset Magic
Let's talk about those stunning cityscape vistas for a moment. There's something special about watching the sun dip below the horizon from this vantage point, painting the sky in warm hues above the city lights.
The park has become something of a local favorite for sunset chasers, and once you've experienced a Salt Lake City sunset from here, it's easy to understand why. Whether you're out for a jog, a casual stroll, or just sitting quietly taking it all in, that skyline backdrop elevates the whole experience.
Get Your Game On
For the active types, 11th Avenue Park features recently renovated six tennis courts and six pickleball courts that are well-maintained.
There's also a basketball court if that's more your style. There's also an open field area that's excellent for impromptu cricket matches or tossing a frisbee around with friends. Runners will appreciate the new track surface that's easier on the joints while you lap up those gorgeous city views.
Family Fun
If you've got little ones in tow, the park includes a small playground for children. Though not huge, the playground works well enough for younger visitors.
There are several picnic areas scattered throughout the grounds if you're thinking about bringing lunch. They're on the smaller side, but provide a nice spot to enjoy a meal outdoors. The park is generally clean and well-kept, making it suitable for family outings. Note that restroom facilities are limited to port-a-potties that aren't always available, so plan accordingly.
Four-Legged Friends Welcome
Dog owners, you're in luck - your furry companions are welcome here, but regulations require them to be leashed. The park has become something of a gathering spot for local dog walkers, with most pet owners being respectful of the space and each other.
The open areas and walking paths provide plenty of room for you and your pooch to get some exercise together in a friendly, welcoming environment.
Good to Know
The park welcomes visitors year-round from 5:00 AM to 11:00 PM daily. Since it's nestled in a residential area, being mindful of noise levels is appreciated, especially during early mornings and evenings.
If you're hoping to snag a pickleball court, you might need a bit of patience during peak times, as they tend to be popular. That said, there's a nice community vibe here with different groups sharing the space harmoniously - exactly what a neighborhood park should be.
