Natural Oasis

Butterfly Haven

What really makes this park special is its involvement in the Native Plant Program, with particular attention given to monarchs and milkweed. The park has become something of a sanctuary for the struggling monarch butterfly population, which has sadly been on the decline for decades as development encroaches on their habitat and climate change alters their environment.

By deliberately cultivating milkweed plants around the grounds, Parley's Way creates crucial habitat for these beautiful orange and black travelers. It's a small but meaningful contribution to the conservation of a species now under federal protection.

Visitor Information

The Salt Lake City Public Lands Department takes care of the park's upkeep and ongoing development. You can visit any day between 6:30AM and 10PM, giving you plenty of time to enjoy all the park has to offer, whether you're an early bird or prefer evening strolls as the day cools down.
