Perched on West S Street in St. George, Utah, Black Hill View Park might be small at just 1.9 acres, but what it lacks in size, it makes up for with absolutely stunning vistas. This compact park offers some of the best panoramic views you'll come across in the area - seriously, you can see the entire city sprawled out below you like a living map.

On clear days, your gaze can wander all the way to Zion National Park in the east. There's something calming about standing there, taking in southern Utah's dramatic landscape with its red rocks and desert beauty. It's no wonder this spot has become a favorite for both casual photographers and those just seeking a moment of peace.

What You'll Find

Though compact, this hillside park packs in plenty to enjoy. There's a spacious grassy field dotted with mature trees that provide welcome shade during those hot Utah days - great for spreading out a blanket and relaxing.

If you're bringing kids along, they'll enjoy the recently upgraded playground (new as of 2023) that works particularly well for smaller and medium-sized children. While there aren't traditional swings for the little ones, parents can relax on the comfortable swing benches nearby while keeping an eye on the playground action.

Feeling hungry? The park offers two pavilions with picnic tables and barbecue grills if you're in the mood for an outdoor meal. There is a water fountain, but it's worth mentioning it isn't always working, so bringing your own water is probably a good idea.

Good to Know

This quiet neighborhood spot is ideal for those moments when you need to reconnect with nature without venturing far from the city. You can park on the street, as there's no dedicated lot available.

Note that there are no restroom facilities here, which might be important to plan around if you're thinking of a longer visit. The park welcomes dogs, however they'll need to stay leashed as there's no fenced area for them to run free.

You can visit anytime between 6AM and 10PM daily, whether you're catching a spectacular sunrise, enjoying an afternoon picnic, or taking in the twinkling city lights as evening falls.
