Tucked away in St. George, Utah, Millcreek Park spans a modest 4 acres within a detention basin. Despite its small size, this quiet place offers several recreation options. The large grassy area is ringed by a concrete path that's fantastic for your morning jog or a leisurely bike ride with the kids.

In the northeast corner, you can find a half basketball court with a unique bonus: a low retaining wall with a metal edge that local skateboarders have claimed as their own. The park covers the basics too, with restrooms, drinking fountains (though they hibernate during winter), and plenty of trash cans scattered throughout.

Playground Area

The playground here isn't your standard cookie-cutter setup. It offers distinct zones for different age groups, with separate areas designed for the little ones (2-5 years) and older children (5-12 years). There's a cool net climb featuring mountain climbing ropes that adds a touch of adventure to playtime.

The Explorer Dome stands out as the playground's centerpiece - a climbing structure challenging enough to entertain visitors of all ages. For the preschool crowd, there's a ropes course that's just right for 4-5 year olds finding their climbing legs.

A word of caution: some of the playground equipment shows its age, with holes appearing in sections of the spongy ground material. And on sunny days, that metal slide can transform into a mini furnace - you might want to test it with your hand before letting the kids slide down!
