Tucked away in Alexandria, Mount Eagle Park holds little pieces of the past with its Civil War-era fortifications still visible throughout the grounds. As you wander along the trail system, you can find yourself easily navigating through natural surroundings where you might just spot some local wildlife going about their day.

Spread across 12.72 acres, this park balances both active and quiet recreational spaces. If you're feeling energetic, the sand volleyball court awaits your next spike, while the multi-use fields offer plenty of room for whatever sport strikes your fancy.

Planning a gathering? The covered picnic pavilion can be reserved for your next family reunion or birthday celebration. Just remember to book it for a full day (9 a.m. to sunset) as they don't do half-day reservations here. Many locals have made memories around the grills during weekend cookouts.

Kid-Friendly Zones

The little ones haven't been forgotten! Mount Eagle features two age-appropriate playgrounds: a gentler space for children under five years old and a more adventurous area for children aged six to ten. While not the biggest playgrounds in the area, they've become regular hangouts for neighborhood families, especially those who've recently moved to the community.

What really defines Mount Eagle is its tranquil atmosphere. Despite its modest size, the park offers plenty of green space to spread out a blanket and enjoy some downtime. It's generally well-kept, creating that perfect backdrop for an afternoon of reading or simply watching the clouds drift by.

Finding Your Way

You can find Mount Eagle Park nestled behind newer condos along North Kings Highway, conveniently close to the Huntington Metro station in Alexandria. Open daily from 5:45AM to 8:36PM, the park includes a parking lot if you're arriving by car.

Extra Perks

Dog parents often bring their four-legged friends to enjoy some off-leash time in the open areas. And if you're into Pokemon Go, you're in luck - the park houses several gaming locations, including two gyms and a regular stop for collecting items.
