Future Improvements

Exciting changes are on the horizon for this neighborhood haven. As part of Alexandria's 2015 Neighborhood Park Plan, Powhatan Park will be getting some thoughtful upgrades. You'll soon find a new ADA-compliant entrance at Douglas Street, along with repaved pathways creating a convenient loop with the sidewalk along Route 1.

The park will also be adding a shade structure with game tables at the existing plaza space - excellent for chess enthusiasts or anyone looking to escape the summer sun. These improvements aim to make the park more accessible and enjoyable for everyone in the community.
