About Bethel Park

Lakeside Getaway

Nestled right next to the Big Bethel Reservoir, Bethel Park offers a peaceful waterfront escape that feels worlds away from the everyday hustle. This multi-acre green space balances wooded areas with open fields, making it perfect whether you're looking to break a sweat or simply unwind in nature. The waterfront spots with their cypress trees stand out - especially in autumn when the foliage changes colors.

Cast a Line or Float Your Boat

The recently rebuilt fishing pier extends into the reservoir, giving anglers a prime spot to try their luck with local fish. It's become quite the gathering spot for fishing enthusiasts since reopening.

If you prefer exploring on water, there's a boat launch available too. Just keep in mind it's on the smaller side with tight access - well-suited for kayaks and smaller craft, but might be challenging for larger boats.

Paths to Wander & Places to Play

The park's walking trails meander throughout the property, offering both a nice workout and chances to commune with nature. Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife - herons and egrets are regular residents, often spotted gracefully wading near the shoreline.

Kids will appreciate the playgrounds scattered across the park, designed for various age ranges. There's a convenient one near the restrooms, but some equipment might occasionally show signs of wear and tear.

Gather & Celebrate

Several pavilions dot the landscape, providing welcome shade and shelter for everything from family picnics to special celebrations. These covered areas come equipped with plenty of seating, tables, and water access.

Pavilion 5 deserves special mention - it's just steps from the water and has its own small fishing pier. The only downside? The restrooms are about 200 yards away. There's also a volleyball court conveniently located right beside this pavilion.

The grounds are well-maintained and suitable for larger outdoor gatherings. The breeze off the water often helps reduce flying insects.

For the Competitive Spirit

Paintball activities are available at what some locals call Bethel Battlefield. The paintball facilities boast excellent staff and a friendly community of regulars who make newcomers feel welcome.

Bring Your Four-Legged Friends

Your canine companions are welcome to join the fun, with plenty of open space for leashed walks. You'll find dog waste stations distributed throughout the park for convenience.

Stay the Night

If one day isn't enough, Bethel Park offers camping spots at reasonable prices. Just plan ahead for weekends, as the large military population nearby means spots can fill up quickly. The quiet, clean environment makes for a pleasant overnight experience in nature.
