About Neptune's Park in Virginia Beach
Neptune's Park is a public outdoor space located on the Virginia Beach oceanfront at 31st Street and Atlantic Avenue. The park is named after and centered around a prominent 34-foot bronze statue of King Neptune, the Roman god of the sea, which was created by sculptor Paul DiPasquale and dedicated in 2005.
The park features 72,000 square feet of space overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, adjacent to the Virginia Beach Boardwalk. It serves as a popular gathering spot for both locals and tourists, offering scenic ocean views and a grassy area suitable for relaxation and picnicking.
Neptune's Park is known for hosting various events throughout the year, particularly during the summer months. It is home to the Free Summer Concert Series, where live music performances take place on an outdoor stage. The park also serves as a venue for other special events and festivals, including parts of the annual Neptune Festival.
The location of Neptune's Park, next to the Hilton Virginia Beach Oceanfront hotel and the Catch 31 restaurant, makes it easily accessible to beachgoers and provides a central point of interest along the boardwalk. The park's open layout and proximity to the beach allow visitors to enjoy the coastal atmosphere while participating in events or simply taking in the surroundings.
