A Bit of History & Where to Find It
Found in Everett's Riverside neighborhood, Garfield Park has been a community staple since 1932. This 5.6-acre green space stretches from Walnut Street to State Street (east to west) and from 23rd to 24th streets (north to south). For almost a century, locals have used this neighborhood space to play, relax, and enjoy the outdoors.
What You'll Find There
The park offers a pleasant mix of open green spaces and winding paths that are ideal for a casual stroll or your morning exercise routine. What we love about Garfield is the landscaping with its diverse trees and plants, creating a nice natural spot within the urban environment.
If you're looking to take a breather, you'll come across plenty of seating areas and benches scattered within the grounds. And yes, there are public restrooms on the north side (always good to know!).
Fun & Games for Everyone
Kids will make a beeline for the play area, which is equipped with all the classics: swings, climbing structures, and even a modern-style seesaw. There's also a large rock for scaling - always a hit with the adventurous little ones. The playground thoughtfully includes equipment suitable for various ages, so both toddlers and older kids can find something to enjoy.
Sports enthusiasts aren't left out either. The park houses two Little League baseball fields, one complete with a concession stand. These fields regularly host the North Everett Little League games and get quite busy during baseball and softball season.
If baseball isn't your thing, no worries - you can shoot some hoops at the basketball court, practice your serve at the tennis court, or join the growing crowd of players at the three pickleball courts which have become quite the hotspot for local players.
Community Touches
One of the park's sweetest features is the small free library - a lovely touch that encourages both reading and community sharing.
Dog parents, you're welcome here too! The northeast and southwest corners offer open grassy areas that are great for walking your four-legged friends. You'll come across dog waste disposal bags and garbage cans within the park, making cleanup easy.
With its central location and various facilities, Garfield Park is a popular spot for Everett residents of all ages seeking outdoor recreation.
