Tucked away in a residential corner of Kent, Washington, Kiwanis Tot Lot #4 has been a cozy play spot for the neighborhood kiddos since 1994. Currently Getting a Makeover

Heads up if you're planning a visit: as of 2024, Kiwanis Tot Lot #4 is closed for renovations. Kent city officials are giving this community space some much-needed TLC with a complete upgrade of the facilities.

The renovation work is in full swing, with completion expected in early 2025. When completed, the park will have two new playgrounds - one tailored for the 2-5 year crowd and another designed with 5-12 year olds in mind.

What to Look Forward To

Both play areas will come equipped with age-appropriate swings for maximum fun. While this park isn't huge, it provides a recreational space where neighborhood families can meet and children can play outdoors.

The current renovation project shows that Kent is invested in keeping its community spaces vibrant and relevant for residents.

Pre-Renovation Setup

Before the makeover began, Kiwanis Tot Lot #4 featured dual playgrounds with swings nestled between them. The equipment was showing its age but remained clean and well-maintained.

Visitors appreciated practical amenities like a drinking fountain and a picnic table for snack breaks. The park's perimeter trees offered some shade, but you'd find the main playground areas bathed in sunshine.

Getting There

The park offers a small parking lot for convenience and sits next to train tracks (train enthusiasts might consider this a bonus feature!). Note that there are no restroom facilities on site, so plan accordingly.
