About the Location
A Hillside Haven
Located in the Denny-Blaine neighborhood of Seattle, Lakeview Park spreads its 4.5 acres of greenery across both sides of Lake Washington Boulevard. Part of the historic Olmsted Brothers park system, this space gracefully descends a hillside toward Lake Washington, offering a peaceful escape from city life.
The west side features a charming bowl-shaped area with grass and trees along 37th Ave E. and E. Harrison Street. Cross the boulevard to discover the eastern section with its lovely lookout point at the end of E. Harrison Street and a natural, undeveloped hillside nestled between Hillside Drive E. and McGilvra Boulevard E.
Picture-Perfect Views
True to its name, Lakeview Park offers stunning vistas. Find your spot on the hillside and take in the breathtaking views of Lake Washington with the majestic Cascade Mountains creating a dramatic backdrop. The park's design works with the natural landscape to create quiet moments of beauty within Seattle's urban setting.
If you're around during summer festivals, the park's elevated position makes it a fantastic spot to watch the Blue Angels soar across the sky during their aerial performances.
Room to Breathe
At the heart of the park lies a large open grassy area that invites all kinds of recreation. You'll often see locals walking their dogs here, giving their four-legged friends room to run and play.
The expansive field provides plenty of space to spread out a blanket for a leisurely picnic, toss a frisbee with friends, or simply lie back and cloud-watch on a rare sunny Seattle afternoon.
Neighborhood Charm
Like any place with character, this park comes with its quirks. Locals have affectionately nicknamed it "Mud Park" - a nod to its tendency to get a bit soggy during Seattle's famous rainy seasons. Across E. Harrison Street and Hillside Drive E. sits the upper campus of The Bush School, making the park an integral part of the neighborhood's daily life and landscape.
