Lidford Playfield

Park Features

Set in East Tacoma, Lidford Playfield stretches across 9 acres at the corner of 60th Street and 44th Avenue. The park's expansive open lawns are a breath of fresh air for the neighborhood, giving you plenty of room to toss a frisbee, kick a soccer ball, or even fly a drone if that's your thing.

Wrapping around these green spaces is a gravel walking loop that's ideal for getting your steps in or taking your four-legged friend for a stroll. The path conveniently connects to the playground area, making it easy to navigate the whole park. We've noticed plenty of joggers and dog walkers making good use of this trail throughout the day.

Playground

Kids are in for a treat with the newly designed playground that puts safety and accessibility front and center. The fall surfacing provides safety for children as they explore and play.

The thoughtful design includes concrete curbing that adds both style and safety to the play area. The community celebrated this fantastic addition with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 7, 2022. We've noticed children really enjoy the equipment during their park visits.

Accessibility

Lidford Playfield welcomes everyone with its ADA-accessible parking spaces right near the entrance. An ADA access ramp and concrete pathway connecting the playground to the walking loop ensure that the park can be enjoyed by visitors of all mobility levels.

These features make it easier for everyone to navigate and enjoy the park. Community input has helped shape Lidford into a more inclusive space.

Atmosphere

There's something genuinely peaceful about spending time at Lidford Playfield. The open design and spacious layout create a calming environment where you can take a deep breath and escape the daily grind for a while.

One thing to note: the main road beside the park does have fast-moving traffic, so keep a close eye on younger children if you're visiting with family. That said, the park's amenities definitely make it worth a visit, especially if you're looking for a well-maintained space in the area.
