About the Location
Dog-Friendly Haven
Established in 2004, this 2.4-acre park was the first official off-leash dog park in the city. The park features a fully fenced off-leash area of approximately 1.5 acres, providing a safe space for dogs to run and play freely.
The park includes both open grassy areas and some tree cover, offering a mix of sunny and shaded spots for visitors and their canine companions. A drinking fountain is available for both humans and dogs, ensuring everyone can stay hydrated during their visit.
Amenities and Features
For the comfort of pet owners, the park also includes a bench and shelter where they can rest while supervising their dogs.
In 2011, Rodgers Park was further enhanced with the addition of a community garden and updated play equipment, expanding its appeal to a wider range of community members.
Community Engagement
The community garden provides an opportunity for local residents to grow their own produce and flowers, fostering a sense of community engagement and environmental stewardship.
Its location in Tacoma makes it a convenient spot for local residents to exercise their dogs and socialize with other pet owners.
