Park Overview

Situated on Madison's west side at 7353 East Pass, Country Grove Park stretches across a generous 43.84 acres. About half of this space - 22 acres to be exact - functions as greenways for stormwater management. These natural drainage areas include mapped wetlands and floodways, which explains why you won't find playgrounds or courts scattered throughout the entire park.

The park got a significant size boost in 2020, growing eastward by 12 acres. This expansion added 5.11 acres of usable park space and 7.23 acres of additional greenway, bringing Country Grove to its current dimensions.

Location and Neighborhood

If you're exploring the area, you'll find Country Grove isn't alone in offering outdoor recreation. Nearby Sandstone Park, Manchester Park, and Chavez Elementary School complement the area with their own set of amenities.

Recreational Spaces

If you want to kick a ball around or practice your softball swing, Country Grove offers open fields with soccer nets and a softball backstop.

For the wheeled adventurers and walkers, the park offers bike path access with freshly renovated paths well-suited for a morning jog or afternoon ride. Basketball players can shoot some hoops at the basketball court, with a convenient picnic table nearby for when you need a breather.

Family-Friendly Features

The playground area got a nice facelift in 2017 and now caters to two different age groups - from toddlers up through middle grades. This means your little ones and their older siblings can each find equipment that matches their abilities.

Feeling hungry after all that play? The park offers picnic areas with two tables near the playground and another by the basketball court - perfect spots to enjoy a packed lunch or snack. Looking ahead, a reservable shelter with public restrooms is scheduled to open in 2025, which will make family outings and community gatherings much more convenient.

The park continues to evolve with its master plan that received approval in May 2023. This blueprint aims to further enhance what Country Grove offers to better match community needs. With its blend of open spaces for sports, recreational facilities, and natural areas, Country Grove Park is a versatile outdoor space for the neighborhood.
