Dixon Open Space

Urban Nature Escape

Dixon Open Space is essentially a little pocket of wilderness amid the urban landscape, spanning a modest 3.15 acres officially classified as an open space park by the City of Madison Parks Division. It offers a breath of fresh air for those needing a quick nature fix in Madison.

What makes this spot special is its simplicity. There's no structured programming here - just you and nature doing your thing.

Ways to Enjoy the Space

While it's not packed with playground equipment or sports fields, that's exactly the charm of Dixon. You can take a peaceful stroll, spend some time watching local wildlife, or simply find a quiet spot to sit and clear your mind surrounded by natural greenery.

Unlike the city's more manicured parks, Dixon Open Space keeps things wonderfully wild, giving you a genuine nature experience without having to leave Madison. It's an excellent place to disconnect from city life for a moment, even when you don't have time for a proper getaway.
