Lucia Crest Park

Park Overview

Open daily from 4:00 AM to 10:00 PM, Lucia Crest Park gives you plenty of time to squeeze in some outdoor fun whether you're an early bird or a night owl. The park spans a modest 4.14 acres in Madison, Wisconsin, making it an intimate neighborhood green space.

Recreational Facilities

Despite its compact size, this park packs in quite a few options for the active crowd. The multipurpose field welcomes everything from impromptu soccer matches to ultimate frisbee games - basically whatever sport strikes your fancy that day.

Got basketball on your mind? The asphalt half-court is available, however you'll want to wrap up your games before sunset as there's no lighting. Beach vibes more your thing? The sand volleyball court offers a little taste of summer fun, and parents will appreciate that sand toys often appear for little ones to enjoy while the bigger kids bump, set, and spike.

Family-Friendly Amenities

Kids can burn off energy at the playground area, a popular spot for the neighborhood's younger residents to climb, swing, and make new friends. When hunger strikes, head over to the picnic shelter where shaded tables provide the perfect spot for a family lunch, casual catch-up with friends, or even a peaceful solo sandwich break.

Seasonal Activities

Lucia Crest doesn't hibernate when winter arrives - it simply changes its outfit. The colder months bring an ice skating rink to the park, transforming it into a winter wonderland where you can practice your spins or just try to stay upright (we've all been there).

Visitor Information

You'll come across drinking water available to keep you hydrated during your visit. Just note that there aren't any restrooms on-site, so plan accordingly.

What makes Lucia Crest special isn't flashy attractions but its simple, neighborhood character. With plenty of open green space for cartwheels, catch, or just sprawling out with a good book, it's a pleasant local spot that residents frequently use. It's the kind of place where you might not drive across town to visit, but if you live nearby, you'll find yourself there several times a week.
