Sauk Creek Park

Play & Recreation Spots

The basketball court is a local favorite at Sauk Creek Park. It's not lit for nighttime play, but the asphalt surface holds up well for afternoon pick-up games or working on your jump shot, and on nice days you'll likely find neighbors out there keeping things friendly.

Sauk Creek Park spans a modest 4.21 acres on Madison's far west side, with an open field that works well for impromptu frisbee games, picnics, or just stretching out with a good book.

Family-Friendly Features

If you've got little ones in tow, the playground area is designed with them in mind. What makes this play space unique is its surface - instead of traditional mulch that finds its way into shoes and socks, this playground uses recycled tire material that's both safer for tumbles and more comfortable underfoot.

Need a bit of shade during your park adventure? The small gazebo represents a charming picnic shelter where you can catch your breath and enjoy a packed lunch. Just note that there's no electricity available, so you'll want to keep that in mind if you're planning any gatherings that require power.

Before heading out, remember that Sauk Creek Park keeps things simple - there are no restrooms or water fountains on-site. The park does provide trash cans around the grounds, so you can clean up after enjoying your time outdoors. It's a low-frills but pleasant green space in the neighborhood.
