Sunridge Park

Play & Recreation

A half-court basketball setup with chain nets makes Sunridge Park a solid spot for casual shooting or teaching little ones their first dribble. The playground area is primarily geared toward younger children, making it an ideal spot for toddlers and elementary-aged kids to burn off energy.

The park's clean, open green spaces invite you to spread out a blanket for a picnic, toss a frisbee, or simply lounge with a good book. These well-maintained grassy areas stay refreshingly free of litter, thanks to the care of both park staff and considerate neighbors.

Park Basics

Sunridge Park may be small - covering just 2.36 acres and classified as a mini park by Madison Parks Division - but it serves its surrounding residential area perfectly. It's a compact space that serves its purpose well.

One of the park's best features is the generous shade around the play areas, providing welcome relief during those hot summer days. If you're bringing small children, you'll appreciate this thoughtful natural cooling system!

Just a heads-up: there are no restrooms or drinking water available on-site, so you might want to take care of those needs before arriving or bring your own water, especially for longer visits.

Neighborhood Vibe

There's something genuinely pleasant about the atmosphere at Sunridge Park. It's clean, safe, and has that friendly neighborhood feel that makes everyone feel welcome. Its manageable size and well-maintained grounds make it particularly suitable for families living in the area.

Local residents often stop by for quick outings with their kids, and you'll frequently see neighbors greeting each other.

Looking Forward

In 2022, Madison Parks Division proposed adding a stormwater diversion berm along the eastern boundary to address drainage issues. This improvement would help ensure the park remains usable even after heavy rainfall.
