Situated on Madison's south side, Waunona Park spans a cozy 5.13 acres near the shimmering shores of Lake Monona. This neighborhood haven sits conveniently close to the Lake Monona Bike Path, making it an excellent pit stop during your cycling adventures.

Sports fans, you've got options here. The park features a full-size basketball court with an asphalt surface - just note it's not lit for evening games. If tennis or pickleball is more your speed, you'll come across two asphalt tennis/pickleball courts that accommodate both sports (also without lighting, so plan for daytime matches).

Things to Do & Places to Relax

Need some open space? The park's multipurpose field is well-suited for kicking a soccer ball around, tossing a frisbee, or simply sprawling out on the grass with a good book. Kids will inevitably make a beeline for the playground area where they can climb, slide, and burn off that endless energy.

Looking to host a small gathering? The park's picnic shelter comes with lighting and can be reserved ahead of time. No reservation? No problem - it's yours to use if nobody has claimed it first.

Good to Know

You'll discover drinking water available in the park, but heads up - there aren't any restrooms in the shelter area. Also worth noting: this is an alcohol-free zone, so save the beers for after your park visit.
