Père Marquette Park

Park Overview

Named after French Jesuit explorer Jacques Marquette, Père Marquette Park is a 1.9-acre urban oasis along the western bank of the Milwaukee River in downtown Milwaukee. The park's riverwalk is ideal for a leisurely stroll, with the river flowing by on one side and the city skyline rising on the other.

At the heart of the park stands a charming gazebo that occasionally fills with the sounds of live music, becoming the park's natural gathering spot.

Amenities

Scattered across the grounds are 4-5 picnic tables where you can enjoy a packed lunch or meet up with friends for a casual outdoor hangout. While the river views are gorgeous, just note there aren't any public restrooms available here.

The park doubles as a launch point for various water adventures. In summer, you can rent pontoons or join boat tours right from the park. There are even options for tubing and - if you're feeling bold - karaoke experiences on the water (because nothing says "confidence" like belting out your favorite song while floating down the Milwaukee River).

The River Rhythms concert series brings the park to life on Wednesday evenings during summer. These free outdoor concerts have become something of a Milwaukee tradition, drawing crowds who spread out blankets and chairs to enjoy live music against the backdrop of the river.
