Parents, you'll come across benches positioned nearby so you can keep an eye on your little adventurers while taking a breather. Though the playgrounds aren't enormous, they're great for a fun outing when you need to burn off some energy with the kids.

Sports Fields Galore

Mayfair Park features several well-maintained baseball, softball, and soccer fields. These fields buzz with activity throughout the seasons, hosting everything from youth leagues to adult tournaments and casual pickup games.

The baseball fields deserve special mention - they're particularly well-kept and frequently host children's baseball games and T-ball matches. On game days, you'll see families gathering to cheer from the sidelines.

You'll find restrooms and water fountains available during daylight hours - a practical necessity after running around the fields, but cleanliness can sometimes be hit or miss.

Need a break from the action? The park's covered pavilions with picnic tables provide a nice spot to refuel or simply enjoy some outdoor dining. The shade these pavilions provide is a welcome relief, especially during Alabama's warmer months.

Its convenient location in the Medical District makes it easily accessible, whether you're a resident or just working nearby. There's plenty of parking available, but do watch out for traffic in the parking areas during busy times.

The park maintains a clean, safe environment with a welcoming atmosphere for families. While it's primarily designed for sports and recreation, note that it's not set up as a designated dog park - something to keep in mind if you're planning to bring your four-legged friend along.
