About the Location

Park Overview

Craig Regional Park is a spacious 124-acre recreational area characterized by rolling hills, mature trees, and open spaces. Completed in 1974, the park features a diverse landscape with approximately 95 acres of turfed areas shaded by a variety of trees.

Natural Features

The park is home to a small 3-acre lake, which serves as a focal point for various activities. Three year-round creeks meander through the park, adding to its natural beauty.

Visitors can enjoy fishing in the lake, which is stocked with catfish and bluegill. A California Fish and Game License is required for fishing.

Recreation Facilities

Craig Regional Park offers multiple playgrounds for children, with three separate play areas located throughout the park. These playgrounds feature sand surfaces and various equipment such as swings, seesaws, and climbing structures.

Visitors can take advantage of the walking and biking trails that wind through the park's picturesque landscape. For sports enthusiasts, the park includes softball fields, basketball courts, and volleyball courts.

Picnic Areas

Picnicking is a popular activity at Craig Regional Park, with numerous picnic tables and barbecues scattered throughout the facility. Several picnic shelters are available for reservation or on a first-come, first-served basis, making it an ideal location for family gatherings or group events.

Special Features

The park also features a rose garden, adding a touch of floral beauty to the natural surroundings. Additionally, there is a nature center open on weekends, providing educational opportunities for visitors interested in learning more about the local environment.

Craig Regional Park was named in honor of Ted Craig, a long-time public servant in Orange County who was elected to the Brea City Council in 1928.
