Set in the hills above Cal State East Bay, Old Highlands Park offers a peaceful outdoor escape with plenty of room to spread out and enjoy the day. The park's open green spaces are excellent for throwing down a blanket, reading a book, or simply soaking up some sunshine.

Kids can burn off energy at the small playground, while the rest of your group gets lunch ready at one of the picnic tables. There are about three tables available, alongside two grills where you can cook up your favorite barbecue classics - just remember to bring your charcoal!

Facilities

Getting here is straightforward thanks to a dedicated parking lot for visitors. The park sits on a one-way street, which helps maintain the peaceful atmosphere while still providing easy access.

For an elevated experience (literally!), head to the hill above the main park where you'll find additional picnic tables offering even better views of the surrounding landscape. It's a nice spot for a more private gathering or just enjoying a quieter moment in nature.
