James R. Bryant Park
About James R. Bryant Park
A Bit of History & Where to Find It
Back in 1977, the city of Ontario established what was then called San Antonio Park. Fast forward to May 29, 2002, and it got a new identity as James R. Bryant Park.
You'll come across this green space tucked away at the northeast corner of D Street and San Antonio Avenue. While the Ontario-Montclair School District owns the land, locals gather here for both active recreation and peaceful relaxation.
Get Your Game On
If you're a sports enthusiast or just looking to burn some energy, the park offers several options. Shoot some hoops at the basketball courts, practice your serve at the tennis court, or catch a few innings at the baseball field.
Need to work on your fitness? The park offers exercise equipment scattered around the grounds. There's also a large open field that's great for everything from frisbee games to impromptu soccer matches.
Family Fun Zone
Kids have plenty of space to let loose here. The children's playground and separate tot lot provide safe places for the little ones to climb, slide, and make new friends.
When hunger strikes, head over to one of the picnic areas equipped with tables and BBQ grills. During summer months, you might get lucky and find local vendors selling treats - the corn is particularly worth trying!
Puppy Paradise
In the northwest corner, you'll discover what many consider one of Ontario's best dog parks. This fully fenced area gives your four-legged friends the freedom to run off-leash and socialize.
Thoughtfully designed with both small and large dog sections, pups of all sizes can play safely among their peers. Both areas feature cooling shade trees and agility play structures that keep the dogs entertained and active.
The Basics
No need to worry about practical matters - the park comes equipped with clean restroom facilities, plenty of drinking fountains, and a convenient parking lot.
The grounds are well-maintained, making James R. Bryant Park a reliable spot for your outdoor needs, whether you're planning an active day of sports or just looking for a peaceful place to unwind.
