As the first dedicated park for the downtown area and nearby neighborhoods, this city-owned space has quickly become a community favorite. With its free WiFi within the grounds, you can easily catch up on emails or simply scroll through social media while enjoying the outdoors in this well-kept park.

Thoughtful Design Elements

The park has a clever layout with a diagonal walkway that creates a sight line from Euclid Avenue at the southwest corner all the way to the Ovitt Family Community Library at the northeast by Lemon Avenue. Eight-foot monuments mark both entrances to the park.

You'll discover distinct areas throughout the square, including an open-air amphitheater with plenty of lawn seating, a whimsical children's play garden, and a serene palm court. There's also space set aside for future restaurant patios, which will surely enhance the park's already vibrant atmosphere.

One can't miss the impressive 34-foot history wall next to the clock tower that faithfully chimes every hour. This beautiful tile mural tells Ontario's story through images, connecting today's visitors with the city's rich heritage.

Places to Play and Relax

Around the park, you'll discover numerous benches and seating areas fantastic for people-watching, reading, or enjoying a casual picnic on the grass. If you have little ones in tow, the playground is ideal for younger children (ages 2-5), with climbing structures sized just right for small adventurers.

Four-legged family members are welcome too! The park is dog-friendly, complete with dog-specific water fountains and waste bag stations throughout. The permeable pathways make for pleasant dog walks while also serving an environmental purpose.

The square hosts various events throughout the year. Summer evenings fill with music during the popular summer concerts on Wednesdays - just bring a chair or blanket and enjoy the tunes wafting across the lawn. Friday movie nights transform the park into an outdoor theater under the stars.

During the holidays, the Christmas on Euclid Experience includes a large Christmas tree, decorations, snow play areas, and performances by local schools. Car enthusiasts shouldn't miss the annual Route 66 Car Show, which fills the area with classic vehicles, live music, and even evening drone shows.

The community calendar stays busy with farmers markets, cultural celebrations, and various gatherings year-round. The events maintain a family-friendly atmosphere with security present during larger gatherings.

The park's designers embraced sustainability with drought-tolerant and California native plants, plus permeable walking paths that help with water management. These eco-friendly features, partially funded by a State Urban Greening Projects Grant, help with environmental sustainability.

As for practical matters, restroom facilities vary by event - expect portable restrooms with handwashing stations during major gatherings. Getting to the park is now easier thanks to a new parking lot for those arriving by car.
