About Bon View Park

A Bit of History

Bon View Park has been a part of Ontario's landscape since 1967, when the city acquired it through a land trade with Kelley-Moore Paint Company. The park grew even larger in 1971 when the city purchased additional land with help from the Housing and Urban Development (HUD) program.

What You'll Find There

Spread across several acres, this green space offers something for everyone. Baseball fans will appreciate Bud Eldridge Field, which takes up about two acres and is home to a local little league - perfect if you're in the mood to catch a neighborhood game.

A major upgrade came in 2008 with the addition of the Dorothy A. Quesada Community Center. This welcoming facility hosts various programs and activities, with staff members who are genuinely helpful when you need assistance.

Things to Do

Regardless of whether you're looking to break a sweat or just unwind, Bon View Park offers options for both. The park balances active recreation spaces with quieter areas for relaxation.

You'll discover well-kept green spaces, walking paths, and sports fields scattered throughout. The generous open grassy areas make an ideal spot for spreading out a picnic blanket, hosting a small family gathering, or simply lounging with your current read.

Practical Stuff

Need a restroom? No problem - the park maintains clean facilities for visitors. If you're planning an evening visit, you'll appreciate the good lighting that keeps the space feeling safe after sunset.

Dog owners, bring your furry friends along! There's plenty of room for them to explore while on leash. And here's a quirky bonus: the park sits under a flight path, so you can watch planes soar overhead - an unexpected but oddly mesmerizing feature.

The Vibe

What really stands out about Bon View is its peaceful atmosphere. It's remarkably clean and quiet - a genuine escape from the usual city hustle.

There are plenty of shaded spots that make for perfect lunch break destinations or evening family meals. And perhaps best of all? Despite offering so much, the park rarely gets overcrowded, giving you the breathing room to truly enjoy your outdoor time.
