Tucked between Fifth Street and Princeton Street in Ontario, California lies George Gibbs Park, a modest 2.89-acre green space that's been serving the community since October 1953. You'll come across it right next to El Camino Elementary School, making it a convenient spot for families after the school bell rings.

What's There Now

Currently, the park keeps things simple but functional. There's a paved parking lot that makes visits hassle-free, and a small softball field where you can catch impromptu games on weekend afternoons. Much of the park is just open turf grass - ideal for those days when you just want to throw a frisbee, have a picnic, or let the kids run wild.

Looking Ahead

As of 2023, George Gibbs Park is getting a makeover. The city plans to transform a large section of that turf grass into new features that better serve the diverse needs of Ontario residents. While it's a bit of a blank canvas now, the park is poised to become an even more valuable community space in the near future.
