About Lincoln Village Community Park
A Green Retreat Since 1969
Nestled across 16.92 acres of Sacramento greenspace, Lincoln Village Community Park has been a neighborhood location since 1969. Located just a stone's throw from AM Winn Elementary School and the George Washington Carver School of the Arts, this leafy space is good for midday strolls or a breath of fresh air between daily responsibilities.
Splash Into Summer
At the heart of the park sits the Lincoln Village Community Pool, a local favorite surrounded by grassy lawns and a welcome shade canopy. With its gentle sloping entry and varying depths from zero to 5.5 feet, the pool accommodates swimmers of all confidence levels.
At just $3 admission, the pool is quite affordable. The beach-style sloping entry is particularly thoughtful, eliminating stairs and ladders that might otherwise pose challenges for little ones or visitors with mobility considerations.
ADFull-Day Whitewater Rafting Trip on Middle Fork from Auburn (Class 3-4)
This 17 mile stretch of river of meanders though the California foothills with exciting rapids, including the world famous Tunnel Chute. It’s no wonder why this stretch of river is considered one of the best in the west.
Community at Its Core
The Neil Orchard Senior Activities Center is a gathering place where older adults connect through various programs. Throughout the seasons, the Cordova Recreation and Park District offers classes and events at the center.
Seniors particularly enjoy activities like bingo and social meet-ups at the center. The park also transforms for community celebrations year-round, including cultural gatherings like Juneteenth complete with local vendors, music, and food that brings neighbors together.
For the Sports Enthusiasts
Active visitors have plenty of options to choose from. The park features well-maintained tennis courts, a softball field, and a baseball field with lighting for those evening games. If basketball is more your style, head to the basketball courts for a pickup game or some solo practice.
You'll also find outdoor exercise equipment strategically placed around the grounds - these weather-resistant machines offer a no-cost workout option that many locals incorporate into their regular fitness routines.
Family Fun Zones
With its generous open spaces and scattered picnic areas, the park easily accommodates everything from impromptu family gatherings to solo afternoons with a good book. Children gravitate toward the playground with its classic swings and slides, although the rock climbing feature tends to steal the show for young adventurers.
When hunger strikes, take your pick of numerous picnic tables, many thoughtfully positioned under the shade of mature trees. Or simply unfold a blanket on one of the many grassy areas for an old-fashioned picnic experience.
Practical Matters
The recently constructed restrooms are clean and well-maintained - always a plus for an extended park visit. While the grounds generally feature lush, well-kept grass, be aware that some areas have uneven terrain that might require extra caution, especially with strollers or for older visitors.
Dog lovers will appreciate that four-legged friends are welcome within the park, but there isn't a dedicated off-leash area. The overall atmosphere remains peaceful and secure, making Lincoln Village Community Park a reliable retreat within Sacramento's urban landscape.
Whether you're looking to swim laps, shoot hoops, or simply sit beneath a tree with a good book, this community space offers a peaceful connection to the outdoors within the city.
