Found in Santa Clara, California, Live Oak Park covers 11 peaceful acres as the city's 30th municipal park. It's a little green space that offers a break from the daily hustle.

What makes this park special? For starters, there are four live oak trees that have been silently watching over this land for more than a century. These grand old trees were carefully transplanted from the former Agnews State Hospital grounds and now cast their generous shade over the playground area. There's something quite magical about letting your kids play under trees that have seen over 100 years of history unfold.

Live Oak Park doesn't skimp on the fun factor. The children's playground includes slides, swings, and climbing structures for kids to enjoy. The playground sits on a bed of white sand, meant for impromptu sandcastle competitions or dinosaur excavations.

The park thoughtfully caters to kids of all ages with two distinct play areas: a toddler play area where the little ones can explore safely, and another section designed for older children to test their limits and burn off energy.

Need a spot for a family gathering or a casual meet-up with friends? The park offers several picnic areas with barbecue facilities and tables scattered within the grounds. These are nice spots for sharing a meal outdoors.

Gentle walking paths meander through the park, ideal for a morning stroll or an evening wind-down walk. There's also a large grass area that serves multiple purposes - a place to throw a frisbee, spread out a picnic blanket, or simply lie back and cloud-watch. You'll discover Live Oak Park at 641 Moreland Way, right next to Don Callejon School (K-8). One particularly convenient aspect is its location near the Northside Santa Clara Library - you can easily combine some outdoor time with picking up a good book.

The surrounding neighborhood adds to the park's appeal, with coffee shops, restaurants, and River Mark plaza just a short distance away. It's a community hub in the truest sense.

Practical amenities include clean restroom facilities (always a plus for families with young children) and a parking lot situated between the library and playground for easy access. You'll also find plenty of benches around the park where you can sit and take in the scenery or keep an eye on playing children. The park welcomes visitors daily from 6:30AM to 8:30PM.
