Park Overview

Crest Lake Park is a centrally located public park in Clearwater, Florida, spanning approximately 38 acres. The park's main feature is Crest Lake, which covers about 13 acres and serves as a retention pond, collecting stormwater from surrounding neighborhoods.

A 1/2 mile walking path encircles the lake, providing visitors with opportunities for exercise and scenic views.

Recent Renovations

The park underwent significant renovations and reopened to the public in April 2021 after a year-long closure. The $5.7 million makeover, funded through the city's BP Deepwater Horizon oil spill settlement money, aimed to enhance and revitalize the space.

As part of the improvements, the park now features enhanced canopy areas with supplemental trees and plantings, designed to improve the overall landscape and provide more shade.

Recreational Amenities

Crest Lake Park offers a variety of recreational amenities for visitors of all ages. Families can enjoy the newly added playground and splash pad, while fitness enthusiasts can make use of the outdoor fitness equipment.

Doggie Days Dog Park

One notable feature of Crest Lake Park is its dog park, known as Doggie Days Dog Park. This three-acre facility includes fenced play areas, double-gated entrances, and amenities specific to canine visitors, such as drinking fountains and waste collection facilities.

Environmental Features

The park's design incorporates elements of green infrastructure, with rain gardens and lake edge treatments implemented to improve water quality. Boardwalks and dock overlooks have been added to enhance visitors' interaction with the lake environment.

The renovation also included updates to existing memorials within the park.
