Park Overview

Found in the heart of Clearwater, Florida, Crest Lake Park spans about 38 acres. The star of the show? Crest Lake itself - a 13-acre body of water that doubles as a retention pond, collecting stormwater from the surrounding neighborhoods.

Wrapping around this picturesque lake is a 1/2 mile walking path that's smooth, paved, and accessible to everyone. If you're pushing a stroller, rolling in a wheelchair, or just out for your morning jog, this trail offers both exercise and calming views.

Recent Renovations

If you haven't visited since 2021, you'll notice significant changes. After a year-long closure, the park reopened in April 2021 following a massive transformation. The $5.7 million renovation, funded through the city's BP Deepwater Horizon oil spill settlement, transformed this community space.

The renovations brought more trees and enhanced canopy areas, giving you extra spots of shade for those sunny Florida days. Since then, the City of Clearwater has maintained the grounds well, making it a notable green space in the area.

Recreational Amenities

Crest Lake Park offers a variety of recreational options. Kids will make a beeline for the new playground with different sections for various age groups, while the popular splash pad becomes everyone's best friend during those hot summer afternoons.

If you're looking to keep up with your fitness routine, you'll appreciate the outdoor fitness equipment stationed across the grounds. Planning a gathering? The picnic areas come with covered shelters and grills, well-suited for everything from family reunions to casual weekend hangouts.

For those who prefer more active pursuits, the sand volleyball courts and basketball courts are ready for pickup games and friendly competitions.

Doggie Days Dog Park

Four-legged friends get VIP treatment at the Doggie Days Dog Park within Crest Lake Park. This thoughtfully designed space features multiple fenced areas separated by dog size, so your tiny Chihuahua won't have to dodge someone's enthusiastic Great Dane.

The amenities here are impressive: double-gated entrances for safety, drinking fountains for thirsty pups, waste collection stations, and even a dog wash station to rinse off your buddy before heading back to the car.

Don't have a dog? The main park areas welcome leashed pets too, making the walking path a popular spot for daily dog walks.
