About the Location
A Green Retreat in the Heart of Brickell
Positioned on Brickell Avenue sits a verdant haven designed by Enea Garden Design. Spanning roughly 35,650 square feet, this charming green space was completed in 2012 after a year of construction work.
The park was thoughtfully created as a community gathering spot that caters to everyone in Brickell's upscale neighborhood - from suit-wearing professionals on lunch breaks to families with energetic little ones in tow.
What You'll Find Here
The heart of the park features an elevated lawn bordered by an allee of Magnolia trees that creates a peaceful spot meant for diving into a good book or simply unwinding after a hectic day.
On either side of this central area, you can find grassy spaces that accommodate both a playground and open areas for impromptu games or picnics.
Near the entrance, light-colored concrete paving welcomes nearby office workers looking for a change of scenery during their breaks.
One quality we appreciate is the park's surprising tranquility and abundant shade - offering a break from Brickell's energy and Miami's sunshine.
Kid-Friendly Corner
Parents will appreciate the gated children's play area that's particularly well-suited for the littlest visitors between ages 1-4.
The playground is well-equipped and securely enclosed, which is particularly valuable given the neighborhood's limited playground options.
For Four-Legged Friends
A gated dog area sits conveniently next to the playground, allowing you to keep an eye on your furry friend while your children play nearby.
This pet-friendly space is somewhat uncommon in Brickell, which is helpful if you're a local resident with a dog.
Comfort and Convenience
You'll come across picnic tables and water fountains across the park, ideal for outdoor lunches or longer visits when you want to settle in for a while.
Note that there are no public restrooms available in the park, so plan accordingly.
Remembering History
A powerful 15-foot-high concrete and steel sculpture by artist Christian Bernard stands as one of the park's most meaningful features.
This moving sculpture incorporates an actual piece from the World Trade Center ruins, as a solemn 9/11 memorial.
The monument exists thanks to a donation from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and was commissioned by Miami Commissioner Marc Sarnoff.
Community Champions
The park owes its existence partly to real estate developer Tibor Hollo and his wife Sheila, who generously donated $250,000 to help acquire the land.
Their contribution helped preserve green space in rapidly developing Brickell.
Before You Visit
Be aware that parking is extremely limited around the park.
The adjacent church strictly enforces its private parking policy with towing, so you might want to consider walking, rideshare, or public transportation instead.
