It offers a diverse landscape featuring pine forests, sand ridges, and marshes, providing a habitat for various bird species and other wildlife. The park's topography is quite varied, with elevation changes of over 100 feet throughout its expanse.

Flora and Gardens

This variation in elevation allows for a wide array of plant life, including numerous tree species, shrubs, and native flowers. The park is home to several gardens, including camellia gardens, a hydrangea garden, and a sensory garden.

Water Features

Lake Elizabeth, a small spring-fed lake named after Pendleton King's mother, is home to ducks and turtles. The park also contains wetlands fed by a series of springs, which historically contributed to Augusta's early drinking water supply.
