About the Location

History and Location

Storey Park, established in 1980, is Meridian's oldest municipal park. It was named after former Meridian Mayor Don Storey. Spanning 14 acres, this community park is situated at the intersection of Main Street and Franklin Road, near downtown Meridian, the Meridian Dairy Barns, and the Meridian Speedway.

Recreational Facilities

The park offers a variety of recreational facilities and amenities for visitors of all ages. It features open play areas, sports fields, and playground equipment, making it an ideal spot for families and sports enthusiasts. Storey Park is also home to the Meridian Pool, providing a refreshing respite during warm summer months.

Storey Bark Park

One of the park's notable features is the Storey Bark Park, an off-leash dog area where canine companions can run and play freely. This section of the park includes agility equipment such as tunnels, ramps, weave poles, and hoop jumps, offering a stimulating environment for dogs to exercise and socialize.

Picnic Areas

The park includes two reservable picnic shelters, each equipped with picnic tables, power access, and charcoal grills. These areas can be rented for gatherings and events, accommodating up to 200 people depending on the shelter. When not reserved, these shelters are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Sports Facilities

For sports enthusiasts, Storey Park offers reservable baseball and softball fields, including the Mo Brooks Field, which can be illuminated for evening games. The park's location near downtown Meridian makes it a convenient recreational space for local residents and visitors alike.
