Greenwood Park is an 81-acre public park located in Des Moines, Iowa. The park has a rich history dating back to 1894 when it was first opened to the public.

Originally developed as a private park by T.E. Brown, it was later purchased by the city as part of a program to acquire land for parks as Des Moines expanded.

Natural Features

The park features a scenic pond that is popular for fishing, with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources stocking it with bass, bluegill, and catfish. Visitors can enjoy walking along the boardwalk surrounding the pond during summer months.
