About Peters Park
A Glimpse of Green in South End
Situated in Boston's South End neighborhood, Peters Park is a 3.7-acre urban oasis that's been bringing the community together since 1976. The park is named after George and Sadie Peters from the Syrian-Lebanese community who advocated for its creation. The park is just a short walk from the Tufts Medical Center Orange Line stop.
Get Your Game On
This space is a popular recreational spot in South End. The park features basketball courts with spectator benches, tennis courts that double as pickleball courts, wall ball courts for handball players, and a little league baseball field. While most facilities are in good shape, you might notice some fresh walkways - signs of the park's ongoing glow-up.
ADPlymouth & South Shore Full Day Private Tour from Boston
This full day private tours combines some of the best coastal views in the region with Pilgrim history. First stop focuses on the Presidential history of John Adams and then for something completely different we swing by the first Dunkin' Donuts (how's that for random).
Kid-Friendly Fun & Furry Friends Welcome
If you've got little ones in tow, the playground is a hit with equipment suited for children ages 2-12. It's clean, safe, and usually buzzing with the energy of neighborhood kids making new friends.
For dog owners, The Joe Wex Dog Recreation Space includes separate areas for both small and large dogs. Each section has fountains to keep your pups hydrated and seating for you to chat with fellow dog lovers while your four-legged friends socialize. The small dog area tends to be better maintained, while the large dog section offers more room for those high-energy pooches to run and play.
Peaceful Pathways
Need a moment of calm? The park's walking paths wind through gardens and ornamental plantings, meant for a mindful stroll or a quiet moment with a book. The grassy areas invite impromptu hangouts and casual picnics, but you might want to bring your own blanket as formal picnic spots are limited.
On sunny days, Peters Park gets busy with locals enjoying the outdoors. Its mix of active and passive spaces makes it a popular spot in Boston's South End.
