Cleveland Park

Cleveland Park is a neighborhood park located in the North Service Area of Minneapolis, Minnesota. The park serves the Cleveland, Jordan, and Folwell neighborhoods within Ward 4 of the city.

Originally established as the "2nd Ward Park," it was later renamed Cleveland Park, likely in honor of President Grover Cleveland. The park covers an area of 1.4 acres and is adjacent to Lucy Laney Community School, which allows for shared use of the park's facilities during school hours.

Over the years, Cleveland Park has undergone several improvements to better serve the community. In 2019, the park saw the relocation and reconstruction of part of its playground as part of the first phase of improvements outlined in the North Service Area Master Plan. The park is set for further enhancements, with plans to reorganize and potentially expand its boundaries to increase safety and visibility from surrounding streets.

The park features a variety of recreational facilities for visitors of all ages. It includes a playground area, basketball courts, and a wading pool for summer enjoyment. The park also offers a multi-use field, which supports various sports and activities.

Cleveland Park serves as an important community gathering space, providing opportunities for both active recreation and passive enjoyment of green spaces. The Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board continues to work with the community to prioritize future improvements and ensure the park meets the evolving needs of local residents.
