Cleveland Park

History and Establishment

Originally established as the "2nd Ward Park," it was later renamed Cleveland Park, likely in honor of President Grover Cleveland. The park covers an area of 1.4 acres and is adjacent to Lucy Laney Community School, which allows for shared use of the park's facilities during school hours.

Cleveland Park is a neighborhood park located in the North Service Area of Minneapolis, Minnesota. The park serves the Cleveland, Jordan, and Folwell neighborhoods within Ward 4 of the city.

Facilities and Amenities

The park features a variety of recreational facilities for visitors of all ages. It includes a playground area, basketball courts, and a wading pool for summer enjoyment.

Recent Improvements and Future Plans

Over the years, Cleveland Park has undergone several improvements to better serve the community. In 2019, the park saw the relocation and reconstruction of part of its playground as part of the first phase of improvements outlined in the North Service Area Master Plan.

The park is set for further enhancements, with plans to reorganize and potentially expand its boundaries to increase safety and visibility from surrounding streets.
