Eastchester Playground

A Slice of Bronx History

Eastchester Playground takes its name from one of the earliest settlements in the Bronx area. It sits on land in the Eastchester neighborhood that was once part of the second English settlement ever established in the Bronx.

What You'll Find Here

As part of the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation system, this community space offers a little something for everyone in the neighborhood.

Kids of all ages will find play equipment suited to their adventure level, with the playground areas kept clean and well-maintained. You'll appreciate the thoughtful layout that provides different zones for various activities.

If you're looking to stay active, the tennis courts are fantastic for a friendly match or some solo practice. There's also a dedicated fitness area with exercise equipment where you can get your workout in while enjoying the fresh air.

For Everyone

One thing we really appreciate about this park is its inclusive design. With ramps, transfer stations, and accessible play elements, children of different abilities can join in the fun.

And yes, there are public restrooms available - always a practical consideration when planning a longer visit!

Recent Upgrades

The park has seen some nice improvements lately. A reconstruction project was launched in recent years, with special attention paid to including Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprises in the work, as required by Local Law 1 of 2013.

The renovations have breathed new life into the tennis courts and created an enhanced fitness area, making Eastchester Playground an even better resource for the community.
