History and Origins
Frank Liske Park is a 238-acre public park located in Concord, North Carolina. The park was originally a working farm for the Stonewall Jackson Training School before being leased to Cabarrus County and developed into a county park. It was named after Frank Liske, who worked at the training school for 48 years and helped acquire the land for the park.
Natural Features
The park features a 10-acre lake that allows fishing and paddle boating. There are several miles of walking and fitness trails winding through the property, including a nature trail. The park preserves some relics from its days as a training school farm, including a refurbished dairy barn and silo. The barn now serves as a popular spot for community gatherings and events.
Recreational Facilities
Frank Liske Park offers a variety of recreational facilities spread across its expansive grounds. It contains multiple sports fields and courts, including soccer fields, softball fields, tennis courts, and volleyball courts. There are also horseshoe pits and an 18-hole disc golf course. For families, the park provides five separate playground areas and an 18-hole miniature golf course.

The park hosts numerous activities and events throughout the year. It serves as the base for an 8-week summer day camp program that accommodates around 650 campers annually. Other regular offerings include sports camps, nature classes, tennis lessons, and community events. The sports complexes are used for league play and tournaments.
