About the Location

Urban Oasis

Bricktown River Walk Park is a scenic urban park located in the heart of Oklahoma City's Bricktown entertainment district. The park is centered around a picturesque mile-long canal that winds through the area, lined with red brick walkways and lush greenery.

Completed in 1999, the canal and surrounding park areas were part of a major revitalization project that transformed the former warehouse district into a vibrant destination. The waterway is about 4 feet deep and maintained by the Oklahoma City Parks and Recreation Department.

Park Features

Visitors can stroll along the canal's banks, enjoying views of the restored brick buildings that give Bricktown its name. Pedestrian bridges cross the water at various points, allowing easy access to both sides.

The park features trees, flowers, and grassy areas that provide a natural respite amid the urban surroundings. It serves as a gathering place for both locals and tourists, with benches and seating areas scattered throughout.

Attractions and Activities

One of the park's main attractions is the water taxi service that operates along the canal. These boats offer narrated tours, providing information about Bricktown's history and pointing out landmarks along the route. The 40-minute round trip gives visitors a unique perspective of the area.

It's a popular spot for leisurely walks, picnics, and people-watching. The area comes alive at night when the canal is illuminated, creating a charming atmosphere for evening strolls.
