Lubell Park
About Lubell Park
Trail System Overview
Tucked away in west Tulsa's Mountain Manor neighborhood, Lubell Park spans 40 acres of refreshing green space that feels like a little nature retreat within the city. The park's multi-use trail system opened in October 2021 with a pretty cool distinction - it's Oklahoma's first purpose-built adaptive mountain bike (aMTB) friendly trail.
What that means is these trails are thoughtfully designed to welcome off-road handcycles, making outdoor adventures more accessible to everyone.
Mary's Loop
If you're visiting Lubell, you'll definitely want to check out Mary's Loop, the park's crown jewel. This 2.2-mile gateway trail runs both directions and welcomes riders and walkers of all abilities. The relatively wide path doesn't have any intimidating steep sections or technical challenges you can't avoid, making it perfect if you're just starting out.
But don't worry if you're more experienced - the smooth surface and nicely bermed corners still make for an enjoyable ride or walk. What we love about Mary's Loop is how it weaves through dense trees, creating that immersive forest feel that makes you completely forget you're in a neighborhood.
The shaded, scenic path provides a peaceful escape whether you're walking, running, or riding - and your four-legged friends are welcome to join the adventure too.
Additional Trails and Features
Beyond Mary's Loop, you'll find Hoke Hill, a 0.3-mile one-way trail specifically designed for bikes. This section includes an intermediate-rated return trail that leads to a jump line with multiple rollers and doubles. Don't worry if you're not into catching air - all these features can be "rolled" as you build up your skills and confidence.
The trail system consists of three loops plus one downhill section. Most trails have a nice flow to them, but you'll encounter some rocky bits that add interest without being overwhelming. With trails rated as blues and greens, they hit that sweet spot of being approachable for beginners while still entertaining for those with more experience.
In the southeast section of the park, you'll discover some wooden skill features - a tabletop, a skinny, a rollable drop, and a double roller. You can incorporate these into your Mary's Loop journey or use them as a separate short practice track to build your confidence.
Park Amenities
Lubell Park isn't just about the trails. Families will appreciate the playground with equipment suitable for different age groups. There's even a short track near the playground where kids can play while others hit the trails.
The park also features a gazebo and a small tower to explore. When nature calls, you'll find a well-maintained porta-potty on site. And yes, this place is definitely dog-friendly - your leashed pups are welcome throughout all the trails.
Connectivity and Location
One of the great things about Lubell Park is how it connects to the nearby Mooser and Bales trails, giving you options to extend your adventure if you're looking for a longer outing. There are even plans to eventually connect the park to Turkey Mountain, which will create even more possibilities for exploration.
You'll come across Lubell Park just minutes from downtown Tulsa, easily accessible from I-44 or Highway 75. It's that perfect quick escape into nature when you need a break from city life, and there's plenty of parking available when you arrive.
Development and Environment
The trails at Lubell Park weren't just thrown together - they were professionally designed and built by Rogue Trails, a company from Arkansas. Local bicycle clubs supported the project, helping transform this area into a well-maintained outdoor recreation space that the community can be proud of.
Just a heads-up - like many wooded areas in Oklahoma, ticks can be present in the park, so be sure to check yourself and your pets after your visit.
