Rockridge Community Park

Natural Landscape

Rockridge Community Park is a 36-acre recreational area located in northeast Bend, Oregon. The park was designed to maintain over 60 percent of its original terrain as natural space, featuring old-growth juniper, rugged lava rock outcrops, and swaths of sage and bitterbrush.

This landscape gives visitors the feeling of being miles outside of town while still within city limits.

Play Areas

A central feature is the natural play area, which includes a Juniper "log forest" where children can navigate smoothed and repurposed trees harvested from local Bend parks. This area also incorporates log steppers, boulder scrambles, and a climbing tree, encouraging creative and adventurous play.

The park also includes a more traditional playground with standard equipment for children of various ages.

Active Recreation

For more active visitors, Rockridge Park includes a lunar-scape skatepark, a 9-hole disc golf course, and bike skills courses. The bike facilities feature both beginner and intermediate trails with obstacles such as log skinnies, corduroy, boardwalk, and armored trail features.

These courses allow riders to choose which obstacles to tackle as they develop their skills.

Trails and Amenities

The park's trail system includes both paved and unpaved paths, providing options for walkers, joggers, and cyclists. A paved loop just under one mile long circles the park, while natural surface trails wind through the interior, offering a more immersive experience in the high desert landscape.

Rockridge Park also includes open lawn areas for recreation and picnic facilities. Its location adjacent to Lava Ridge Elementary School and Sky View Middle School makes it a popular spot for families and students.
