Park Overview

Found on Southeast Railroad Street in Bend, Oregon, Jaycee Park is one of those hidden neighborhood havens that locals treasure. At just about 0.6 acres, it's definitely on the cozy side, but what it lacks in size, it makes up for in charm.

If you're trying to find it, just look near Vince Genna Stadium and Kiwanis Park - it's within easy walking distance, making it a fantastic little green escape for folks living nearby.

History

This little park has been around since 1969, originally under the City of Bend's care before the Bend Park and Recreation District (BPRD) took over in 1977.

It's seen some love over the years, with makeovers in 2000 and 2007. The 2007 update brought in fresh playground equipment that gave the space new life.

Natural Features

What really makes Jaycee Park special are the mature conifer trees that tower throughout the space. They cast the most wonderful shade on hot summer days and give the park a peaceful, established feel.

The railroad tracks that border the park add a bit of character - something a little different from your typical neighborhood green space.

There's a nice open grassy area well-suited for throwing a frisbee or just lounging with a book, but heads up - it can get a bit soggy after rain showers.

Neighborhood Connection

Despite being modest in size, this little park manages to offer something for everyone who stops by.

Sandwiched between 3rd Street and the railroad in an older subdivision, it's become something of a casual meeting spot for neighbors to connect.

The open layout makes it dog-friendly too. You can bring your furry friends along, however keeping them leashed and supervised is always a good idea.

Access Information

You'll discover on-street parking if you're driving over, but honestly, the park is most commonly enjoyed by folks who simply walk over from the surrounding homes - exactly as a neighborhood park should be.
