Lafferty Park

A Neighborhood Retreat

Found in Eugene, Oregon, Lafferty Park spans 2.1 acres of sloping greenery that is a breath of fresh air for locals. This modest but charming space offers a nice spot to unwind, let kids play, or simply reconnect with nature without venturing far from the city.

What You'll Find Here

On the western edge, you'll discover a play area that's a hit with the neighborhood kids. The playground comes equipped with classic swings, a small jungle gym with a slide, and - our personal favorite - an all-metal merry-go-round that spins with delightful speed (parents, you've been warned!).

Nature enthusiasts will appreciate the open waterway that runs along the eastern boundary. This little stream adds a touch of natural charm and creates a peaceful soundtrack for your visit.

There are a few picnic tables scattered throughout the grounds, ideal for impromptu lunches or afternoon snacks, with trash facilities nearby to keep things tidy.

The Lay of the Land

The park's sloping terrain gives it character and creates different vantage points as you wander through. Just be aware that level ground is somewhat limited due to the natural hillside setting - comfortable shoes are definitely recommended.

While Lafferty isn't vast, its convenient location makes it an easy choice for nearby residents looking for a quick escape without a commute.

Good to Know

If you're driving, you'll need to park at Wayne Morse Park just north across Crest Drive, as Lafferty doesn't have its own parking area.

Restrooms are available, but note that they're located across the street on the opposite side of the park - something to keep in mind if you're visiting with young children or planning a longer stay.
